İKİ DİL BİR BAVUL (2009) by ÖZGÜR DOĞAN-ORHAN ESKİKÖY **

So what? An unlikeable Turkish primary school teacher with an awful haircut has been sent to a Kurdish village and the children didn’t know Turkish. Nice plot, good performances from children and families unlike Emre Aydın, but nothing else. I know why you like it and you know why i don’t. I appreciate the hard work beyond the movie. It’s very hard to live in such condition for a year whole crew and be a part of local people but where is the trick? Where is the interesting part of it? Where is good observations about Kurdish and Turkish people live together? Nice try but no success. Two awards from Altın Koza, Best Middle East Documentary in Middle East International Film Festival, Best First Movie in Altın Portakal and Gümüş Boğa from Festival on Wheels? Give me a break! It’s obvious that some people has been sentimental about this mockumentary, that’s all and unfortunately this is what all award ceremonies turn into.
